Terms of Service

Welcome to DocPathway, operated by Pathway Education LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, services, and content accessible at https://www.docpathway.com (“Platform”). The term “tutor” or “tutors” can refer to tutors, mentors, consultants, or any other independent contractors. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility You must be at least 18 years old to use this Platform. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.
2. Description of Services DocPathway offers:
- One-on-one tutoring and mentoring sessions
- Online courses and recorded educational content
- Webinars and related educational materials
Tutors are independent contractors who deliver services via the Platform. We facilitate connections between tutors and users but do not directly provide tutoring services.
3. User Accounts Currently, only tutors can create accounts. By registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete information
- Keep your login credentials secure
- Be responsible for any activity under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Payments and Fees Tutors set their own rates. We process payments through Stripe and retain a commission for each session booked. Users agree to pay all fees and applicable taxes associated with booked sessions.
5. Cancellations and Refunds Cancellation and refund terms are governed by our separate Payment, Refund & Credit Policy. Users are encouraged to review that policy prior to booking.
6. Intellectual Property All content on the Platform, excluding user-submitted content, is the property of Pathway Education LLC or its licensors. Users may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works without express permission.
7. User-Generated Content Users retain ownership of content they create and submit to DocPathway. By submitting content, users grant DocPathway a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and distribute such content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Platform.
8. Prohibited Conduct Users may not:
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Use the Platform to harass or harm others
- Circumvent the Platform to avoid paying commissions
- Upload malicious software or engage in disruptive behavior
- Share personal contact information with the intent to solicit or accept payments off-platform
9. Academic Integrity Users agree not to use DocPathway’s services to engage in any form of academic dishonesty, including but not limited to cheating, plagiarism, or submitting work that is not their own. Tutors are prohibited from completing assignments, taking tests, or engaging in any activity that violates academic policies of educational institutions.
10. Subscription Services DocPathway may offer subscription-based services. Subscribers agree to recurring billing as outlined during the subscription process. Users may cancel subscriptions at any time, with cancellations taking effect at the end of the current billing cycle. No refunds will be provided for partial billing periods.
11. Off-Platform Transactions Users are prohibited from soliciting or accepting payments outside of DocPathway’s platform. Sharing personal contact information for the purpose of circumventing the platform’s payment system is strictly forbidden and may result in account suspension or termination.
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability We do not guarantee any academic outcomes. Services are provided “as is.” We are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform.
13. Modifications We may revise these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via the Platform. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes arising from the use of DocPathway’s services will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, unless otherwise required by law.
15. Contact Terms
By creating an account or providing your contact information, you consent to receive communications from Pathway Education, LLC (“DocPathway”) via email, phone call, or text message (SMS) for purposes related to your account, appointments, payments, or mentorship activities.
Text messaging services may be provided through third-party vendors. Standard messaging and data rates may apply. You may opt out of non-essential text messages at any time by replying “STOP” or by contacting us at support@docpathway.com.
You acknowledge that DocPathway may contact you by text or call for administrative, transactional, or security-related purposes, including verification, scheduling updates, or policy notifications.

Privacy Policy Effective Date: 04/01/2025 This Privacy Policy explains how Pathway Education LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), the operator of the DocPathway website (https://www.docpathway.com), collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal information when you use our services. The term “tutor” or “tutors” can refer to tutors, mentors, consultants, or any other independent contractors.
1. Information We Collect We may collect the following categories of personal information:
- Contact Information: Including your name, email address, and phone number.
- Demographic Details: Such as your age, gender, and location.
- Educational and Professional Background: Including degrees, certifications, and employment history.
- User-Generated Content: Such as documents you upload, messages you send, and feedback you provide.
- Account Information: Tutor profile details, educational background, uploaded content.
- Technical Information: Including IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages visited, and time spent.
- Media Uploads: Profile photos, educational images, and other media you submit through the platform.
- Cookies and Tracking Technologies: To analyze website performance and user behavior (see Cookie Policy).
- Comments: When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
- Embedded Content: Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
- All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
2. How We Use Your Information We use your information to:
- Create and manage tutor accounts
- Process payments through Stripe
- Deliver and improve our educational services
- Respond to inquiries and support requests
- Analyze site usage with tools like Google Analytics
- Display your uploaded profile photo and media on your profile or in platform materials
- Comply with legal obligations
- If you request a password reset, your IP address may be included in the reset email
3. How We Share Your Information We may share your personal information with:
- Service Providers: To facilitate our services, such as payment processing and data analysis.
- Legal Authorities: When required by law or to protect our rights.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
4. Data Security We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to safeguard your data. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Media If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
6. Your Rights and Choices Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data. If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

- Data Portability: Request transfer of your data to another service provider.

7. Data Retention We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, including legal and accounting requirements.
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile.
8. Children’s Privacy Our services are not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
9. International Data Transfers DocPathway is operated in the United States. If you are accessing our services from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your data in the United States.
10. Contacts
We may collect and use your phone number to communicate with you by call or text message (SMS) regarding account activity, booking confirmations, payment notifications, or mentorship-related updates. These messages may be delivered through third-party communication platforms.
We do not share your phone number with other users. We retain text message logs only as necessary to operate and monitor our communication system.
Standard carrier rates may apply, and you can opt out of non-essential SMS messages by replying “STOP” or contacting us directly.
We may use OpenPhone Technologies, Inc. as a service provider to facilitate business-related text and voice communication. OpenPhone may process limited metadata (such as timestamps and phone numbers) in accordance with its own privacy practices.
11. Updates to This Policy We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with the revised effective date. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

Student Agreement
Effective Date: 04/01/2025
This Student Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into by the user (“you”) and Pathway Education LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operator of the DocPathway platform. By accessing or using our website and tutoring/mentoring services, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement.
1. Eligibility You must be at least 18 years old to book tutoring or mentoring services on DocPathway. By using the platform, you affirm that you meet this eligibility requirement.
2. Booking and Session Participation
- All bookings must be made through the DocPathway platform.
- You agree to show up on time and prepared for each session.
- You agree not to record or distribute any session content without explicit permission.
3. Payments and Cancellations
- Payment is due at the time of booking. All payments are processed via Stripe.
- Refunds and cancellations are governed by our Refund & Payment Policy.
- No-shows or late cancellations may result in forfeiture of payment.

3.1 Session Booking
Sessions must be booked through the platform using available scheduling tools. Booking details (e.g., time, tutor, price) will be confirmed before payment.
3.2 Payment Processing
All payments are securely processed through Stripe. You authorize the platform to charge your provided payment method for any booked services.
3.3 Platform Fees
Prices listed for sessions include tutor compensation and a platform fee retained by DocPathway.
4. Missed Sessions and Refund Requests
- If a tutor fails to deliver a scheduled session, you may be eligible for a full refund or platform credit.
- Refunds are subject to review and approval by DocPathway based on session attendance records and communication history.
- Misuse of refund requests may result in account review or suspension.

4.1 Student-Initiated Cancellations
You may cancel a session up to 24 hours in advance for a full refund or credit. Late cancellations may result in forfeited payment at the platform’s discretion.
4.2 Tutor No-Show or Service Issues
If a tutor fails to appear or does not deliver the session as promised:

You may file a complaint within 48 hours of the session.

We may offer a refund or credit upon verification of your claim.

The platform reserves the right to review session records or communications to resolve disputes.
4.3 Dispute Resolution
All disputes will be reviewed by platform administrators. Refund decisions are final and based on documentation, session history, and reported conduct.

5. Code of Conduct You agree to:
- Treat tutors with professionalism and respect.
- Not engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior.
- Use DocPathway services for lawful and educational purposes only.
- Not solicit tutors for off-platform payments or communication.
6. Academic Integrity DocPathway prohibits the use of tutoring services for any form of academic dishonesty. You may not ask tutors to complete assignments, take tests, or produce content meant for submission on your behalf.
7. Off-Platform Transactions You agree not to solicit or engage in tutoring services or payments outside of the DocPathway platform. Any attempt to circumvent the platform’s payment system may result in account suspension or termination.
8. Privacy and Data Use By using DocPathway, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. No Guarantee of Outcomes Tutoring services are intended to support your learning. However, we do not guarantee specific results such as improved grades or test scores.
The platform provides access to independent tutors and does not guarantee specific outcomes or performance. We are not responsible for the accuracy of tutor-provided content or materials.
10. Account Suspension We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account for violations of this Agreement, including but not limited to abusive behavior, fraud, academic dishonesty, or circumvention of platform policies.
11. Limitation of Liability To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocPathway is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the platform.
12. Dispute Resolution Any disputes arising from this agreement will be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, and governed by the laws of the State of California.
13. Intellectual Property All materials shared during tutoring sessions are owned by the tutor or platform, unless otherwise specified. You agree not to reuse or distribute materials without permission.
14. Changes to This Agreement We may revise this Agreement at any time. We will notify users of material changes. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

Business Terms for Institutional Use
Effective Date: 04/01/2025
These Business Terms (“Terms”) govern the use of DocPathway’s services by organizations, including educational institutions, enterprises, and group administrators (“Institution,” “you”). These Terms are in addition to our general Terms of Service.
1. Eligibility and Authorization
- The Institution represents that it has the authority to enter into this Agreement on behalf of its organization.
- An authorized representative must accept these Terms on behalf of the Institution.
2. Account Management
- The Institution is responsible for managing its administrator accounts and authorized users.
- The Institution will ensure all users comply with platform rules, including conduct and privacy policies.
- The Institution agrees not to share access credentials outside of its authorized personnel.
3. Security and Access Management
- The Institution is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of access credentials and ensuring that only authorized users access the platform.
- Any unauthorized use or security breaches must be reported to DocPathway immediately.
4. Data Use and Privacy
- The Institution may provide student or employee information for account setup, subject to applicable privacy laws.
- DocPathway processes such data solely to deliver educational services.
- The Institution affirms that it has appropriate legal authority to provide personal data, including parental consent where required.
5. Compliance with Applicable Laws
- The Institution agrees to comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to data protection laws and student privacy regulations, in connection with its use of DocPathway services.
6. Licensing and Access
- Access is granted on a per-user or seat basis as outlined in your purchase agreement.
- The Institution may not sublicense, transfer, or resell access to DocPathway services.
7. Fees and Billing
- Fees for institutional access are determined in the purchase order or custom agreement.
- Invoices must be paid within the terms specified (typically 30 days).
- Late payments may result in suspension or revocation of access.
8. Term and Termination
- These Terms remain in effect for the duration of the access agreement.
- Either party may terminate for material breach with 30 days’ written notice.
- Upon termination, user data may be deleted in accordance with our data retention policies.
9. Data Ownership and Use
- The Institution retains ownership of its data.
- By using DocPathway services, the Institution grants DocPathway a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, and process the data solely for the purpose of providing and improving the services.
10. Confidentiality
- Both parties agree to maintain the confidentiality of proprietary or sensitive information disclosed during the relationship.
- Confidential information may not be used for any purpose other than fulfilling the agreement.
11. Intellectual Property
- All platform content, systems, and tools remain the property of Pathway Education LLC.
- The Institution retains ownership of its own submitted content and data.
12. Service Level Commitments
- DocPathway will use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the availability of its services and will provide support in accordance with its standard support policies.
13. Limitation of Liability
- DocPathway will not be liable for indirect or consequential damages.
- Maximum liability is limited to the total fees paid in the past 12 months.
14. Dispute Resolution
- Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
- This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California.
15. Amendments
- We may update this Agreement from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you via email or platform notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

Code of Conduct and Community Guidelines

This Code of Conduct sets expectations for all users of the DocPathway platform, operated by Pathway Education LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the platform, all users—including tutors and students—agree to uphold the following standards. The term “tutor” or “tutors” can refer to tutors, mentors, consultants, or any other independent contractors.
1. Respect and Professionalism
- Treat all users with courtesy and professionalism.
- Avoid any form of harassment, bullying, or discriminatory behavior.
- Maintain constructive, respectful communication at all times.
2. Appropriate Use of Services
- Use DocPathway solely for legitimate educational and mentorship purposes.
- Do not use the platform to promote, sell, or solicit unrelated products or services.
- Do not use tutoring services to engage in or support academic dishonesty (e.g., cheating, plagiarism).
3. Academic Integrity
- All users must uphold the highest standards of academic honesty.
- Tutors are prohibited from completing assignments, taking exams, or engaging in any activity that violates academic integrity policies.
4. Integrity and Trust
- Do not misrepresent your identity, credentials, or intentions.
- Tutors must provide honest, accurate information about their qualifications.
- Students must provide accurate goals and expectations.
5. Privacy and Security
- Do not record, distribute, or share sessions without the other party’s consent.
- Do not share personal contact information unless a session has been booked through the platform.
- Keep account login credentials confidential.
6. Platform Use
- All communications and transactions must occur within the DocPathway platform.
- Sharing personal contact information or arranging sessions outside the platform is strictly prohibited.
- Violating this policy may result in account termination.
7. Session Conduct
- Be punctual, prepared, and focused during sessions.
- Tutors and students must be in a distraction-free environment with appropriate attire.
- Any abusive, offensive, or inappropriate conduct may result in account suspension.
8. Respectful Communication
- Users must communicate respectfully and professionally.
- Harassment, discrimination, or any form of abusive behavior will not be tolerated.
9. Violations and Reporting
- Violations of this Code may result in warnings, suspension, or permanent removal.
- Users may report misconduct by emailing help@docpathway.com.
- Reports will be reviewed promptly, and appropriate action will be taken.
- DocPathway reserves the right to investigate and take appropriate action in its sole discretion.
10. Modifications
- We may update this Code from time to time. Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Code.

Payment, Refund & Credit Policy
Effective Date: 04/01/2025
This policy outlines the payment, refund, and credit terms for users and tutors on the DocPathway platform, operated by Pathway Education LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). The term “tutor” or “tutors” can refer to tutors, mentors, consultants, or any other independent contractors.
1. Payment Terms (Students)
- All session payments must be made in advance through the DocPathway platform using Stripe.
- Session prices are determined by each tutor within the platform’s allowed pricing range.
- Payment is required at the time of booking to secure a session.
2. Tutor Compensation
- Tutors receive payment for completed sessions via Stripe after platform commission is deducted.
- Tutors are paid according to their set rates and session duration.
- Tutors must maintain an active Stripe Connect account to receive disbursements.
3. Cancellation Policy (Students)
- Students may cancel or reschedule sessions at least 24 hours in advance for a full refund or credit.
- Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the session may not be eligible for a refund.
- No-shows (failing to attend without notice) will result in forfeiture of the session fee.
4. Cancellation Policy (Tutors)
- Tutors must provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a session.
- Frequent cancellations or no-shows may result in account suspension or removal from the platform.
- Tutors who cancel a session late may forfeit earnings or be subject to platform penalties.
5. Refund Policy
- Refunds are issued only in cases where the session could not be delivered due to technical or scheduling issues attributable to the tutor or platform.
- Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the scheduled session.
- All refunds are subject to platform review and approval.
6. Credits
- In eligible cases, students may receive credit to their account instead of a direct refund.
- Credits can be applied toward future bookings and expire after 6 months.
7. Chargebacks
- Initiating a chargeback without contacting support first may result in account suspension.
- We reserve the right to dispute chargebacks with the payment processor.
8. Pricing and Fees
- Tutors set their rates independently; however, DocPathway may impose minimum and maximum rate limits.
- DocPathway deducts a commission from each completed session.
- The platform may also charge administrative fees for processing or policy enforcement.
9. Dispute Resolution
- Payment and refund disputes will be handled by DocPathway support and escalated if necessary.
- All disputes are subject to the platform’s Dispute Resolution clause as outlined in the Terms of Service.

- We may update this Agreement from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you via email or platform notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

Subscription Terms

These Subscription Terms (“Terms”) govern your use of any subscription-based services (“Subscription Services”) offered by DocPathway, operated by Pathway Education LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By purchasing or using Subscription Services, you agree to these Terms in addition to our Terms of Service.
1. Subscription Plans
- Subscription options, features, and pricing are outlined at the point of purchase.
- We reserve the right to modify subscription plans, pricing, or features at any time with reasonable notice to subscribers.
2. Billing and Payment
- Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (e.g., monthly or annually), depending on the plan selected.
- Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges unless and until you cancel.
3. Automatic Renewal
- Unless you cancel before the end of your current billing period, your subscription will automatically renew under the same plan and term.
